Chairperson Appointment to the COEC and Professional Background Ms Bernotaitė has served as a Member of the Chief Official Ethics Commission (COEC) since 29 June 2026, following her appointment by the Seimas upon the nomination of the Seimas. She has served as Chairperson of the Commission since 8 July 2026. Ms Bernotaitė is a lawyer and a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University. She has devoted most of her professional career to the public sector, working in the fields of legislative drafting, public administration, representation of the State’s interests, international cooperation, and corruption prevention. Since 2022, Ms Bernotaitė headed the Corruption Prevention and Internal Investigations Division of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania. Previously, she worked at the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania (STT), the Office of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and a law firm. She has also gained professional experience in the fields of environmental protection, education, and other areas of public administration. |
